Congratulations to Work Package 7 working group for publishing some of their research work carried out as part of SOPHIA. The research highlights the lived experiences of people living with obesity during the COVID-19 pandemic. It highlights the challenge sustaining treatment and psychosocial impact during these unprecedented times.

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused many events around the world to be cancelled or postponed and SOPHIA also had its share. SOPHIA’s Kick-Off meeting was originally planned to take place in Denmark last month but it had to be postponed to a later ‘yet to be confirmed’ date.
Prof Carel le Roux, Coordinator of SOPHIA, spoke on Irish Radio NEAR fm about the SOPHIA project and how it aims to change the treatments of obesity.
